Zachary D. Cordova,

Zachary D. Cordova, Esq. is a partner at the Cordova Law Firm, LLP. Mr. Cordova is a lifelong resident of Salida, Colorado where he was born and raised. After graduating from Salida High School, Mr. Cordova bought a business where he "learned just how tough the world of business and life can be." This life lesson of owning a business at a young age really helped Mr. Cordova see the benefits of an education and he decided to go back to school.

 

After selling his business and enrolling back to school, Mr. Cordova graduated in 2005 from the University of Colorado with a degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Philosophy of Science and and an emphasis in Analytical Thought. During his undergraduate years Mr. Cordova was awarded multiple dean list awards, a national dean's list award, and was nominated and selected to the Who's Who among Students in American University's and Colleges.

Mr. Cordova next attended the highly ranked Arizona State University College of Law (now Sandra Day O'Conner College of Law). While in law school Mr. Cordova participated in the Civil Justice Clinic, which focused on educating law students through access to justice representation combined with seminar work. The Civil Justice Clinic provides a strong foundation of training, supervision, and field experience necessary to become effective lawyer. Additionally, Mr. Cordova was accepted into the Public Defenders Clinic at ASU where he had the opportunity to gain valuable experience by representing indigent defendants in criminal cases under the close supervision of Jeff Roth, an adjunct professor at the College of Law and attorney in the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office.

Mr. Cordova ultimately received his Juris Doctor degree in 2008 and is now licensed to practice law in both the Federal and State courts in the State of Colorado. After law school in Arizona, Mr. Cordova moved back to Colorado to take the bar exam and practice law in the State his is native to. Since 2008 Mr. Cordova and his father have been practicing law together throughout the State of Colorado.

In addition to receiving his law degree, in 2012 Mr. Cordova attended and received his certification in mediation. As a certified mediator and an attorney, Mr. Cordova has developed a unique perspective that assists him in representing his clients. 

 

Aside from mediation service, Mr. Cordova actively litigates cases in a wide range of legal issues, please see our practice areas for assistance. In addition to representing victims in a number of legal areas, including employment law, family law, and personal injury, Mr. Cordova is a dedicated lawyer whose personal philosophy incorporates a strong commitment to serving his clients and the Colorado community. He regularly gives legal assistance on a pro-bono basis and has strongly committed his time to the less privileged and disabled.

Mr. Cordova is a member of The Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association. In 2012 Mr. Cordova was appointed to a one year term on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. “I want to thank Zack for giving us his time and talents by serving on the board of directors,” James Croshal, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association president, said.

 

“It is attorneys like him who increase public safety for everyone in Colorado. They are committed to protecting the Seventh Amendment and our right to trial by jury.” In 2013, Mr. Cordova was nominated and elected to an additional two year term on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Cordova has been recognized for his legal talent and ability to think outside of the box in complex representations of his client. In 2013, Mr. Cordova was also elected to "Best Attorney in Chaffee County" as voted on by residence in the area. This is an award his father received almost every year for nearly 25+ years.

Like his father, the Cordova family are pioneers in the State of Colorado and are among the first settlers to establish themselves in Colorado before it was a state. Mr. Cordova's family has had a presence in Colorado for as far back as 10 generations, and they feel proud to continue a strong presence in the state.
